Saskatoon Police say three people were arrested after a stolen vehicle attempted to evade police. It began around 10 Wednesday night when a suspicious vehicle was witnessed speeding around 20th Street West and Avenue S South.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but a news release from police says the vehicle fled, driving dangerously, so officers disengaged, while others positioned themselves to deploy a tire deflation device near Edmonton Avenue and Avenue P North. The three then continued on towards a parking lot in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West and were arrested. A Police Service Dog conducted a search of the area and a sawed-off 20-gauge shotgun was found discarded nearby. Continued investigation confirmed the vehicle was stolen at gunpoint in Prince Albert the day before.

Two men, 26 and 22years old, and a 17-year-old girl are charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 along with weapons-related offences. The 22-year-old is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving while being pursued by police, dangerous driving and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
