Homicide Investigation

A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection to a homicide last week in Regina.

On Friday, December 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 3000 block of 6th Avenue North after receiving a report of an injured adult male. When they arrived, they located a victim who was suffering from what appeared to be serious stab wounds. Officers provided first aid, but the victim succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Dallas Paul Iron and subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 46-year-old Trevor Roy Sunshine who was in court Thursday charged with second degree murder.

Hit and Run

A 29-year-old woman from Calgary has been charged in a hit and run in Regina in early December.

At about 1 a.m. December 2nd, officers were sent to a report of a sick or injured person on the 1100 block of Rae Street. They found a woman lying on the ground at an entrance to an alley and the driver had fled the scene. The victim was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The investigation led the Regina Police Service to Calgary where the suspect was arrested on December 22nd.

Victoria Redwood of Calgary made her first appearance in Regina Provincial Court earlier this week charged with failing to stop at a collision that results in death.
