This is definitely a day to check the Highway Hotline. There are many highways where visibility is reduced including those leaving Saskatoon as well as travel not recommended for some highways in eastern Saskatchewan. As of noon, the snowfall warnings continue to move eastward and now apply to Kamsack, Canora, Preeceville, Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy.
Environment Canada now says to expect snow through Wednesday afternoon with snow at times heavy and 10 to 15 centimetres expected. The national forecaster says an Alberta clipper continues to bring heavy snowfall to the region and gusty winds accompanying the snowfall will cause reduced visibility at times due to blowing snow. The snowfall is expected to taper off on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
