To alleviate some financial barriers for local nonprofit organizations, the Western Development Museum has created something called a Community Membership.
Ajibike Ogele, Fundraising Specialist at the WDM, says purchasing the annual membership will allow nonprofit organizations to bring 12 of their residents to any of the four WDM across the province as many times as they wish throughout the year.
“We realized that there was a demand for a solution that would allow non-profit organizations to gain access to the museum without it being a financial burden to them. Especially since coming out of Covid, they needed solutions like that,” she stated.
The membership was created with assisted living facilities, newcomer services, and group homes in mind, and will cost $170 for a full year.
“We are encouraging all non-profit organizations…to take advantage of this membership and use it to engage and educate their residents and their guests about the rich culture and history of Saskatchewan.”
Nonprofit organizations that are interested can go online at WDM.ca and register.
