Teachers across the province will be out in their communities during their one-day strike tomorrow (Tues). The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation has listed demonstration sites from Beauval in the north to Estevan in the southeast and many communities in between.
STF’s President, Samantha Becotte, along with Canadian Teachers’ Federation President Heidi Yetman, are delivering letters to the Premier and Education Minister tomorrow morning at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building. A news release from the STF says these are letters from teachers and supporters describing critical issues in the publicly funded education system, with suggestions on how they can be addressed.
Becotte has said in the past that class size and complexity are priority issues for teachers. She noted last week that if there is no movement from the government after the one-day strike, there will be additional job action to follow.
