A suspicious sudden death is now being investigated as a homicide. Around 5 p.m. New Year’s Day, Saskatchewan RCMP were alerted about the body of an unidentified male in a rural area west of St. Walburg in the RM of Frenchman Butte.
Police say the victim is 26 year old Braeden Alfred James Sparvier.

Turtleford and Onion Lake RCMP along with specialized police units are continuing their investigation. An autopsy is being conducted by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service today (Fri).

The 2 kilometre stretch along the grid of Township Road 542 in the St. Walburg area is still blocked off and traffic is being re-routed until further notice.
