The President and C-E-O of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce says 2020 will be an interesting year.
Darla Lindbjerg says having municipal and provincial elections within a couple weeks of each other will challenge business leaders to wade through the noise while charting a path for the immediate future.
She feels the federal election and international trade disputes were among the challenges of 2019.
Lindbjerg says operators in the business and farm sectors were victims of politically motivated trade issues from India and China but points out a home-grown factor needs to be resolved.
She says problems surrounding rail and pipelines were problematic for employers.
Lindbjerg stresses the business community will move forward this year with a three-pronged challenge for all three levels of government.
They want to know how each will create a more competitive local business environment, more efficient processes for doing business in Saskatchewan and what opportunities they will create for business growth.
