The Saskatoon YMCA has appointed DeeAnn Mercier as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mercier’s resume includes being Executive Director of the Broadway Improvement District and communications director at the LightHouse, where she was responsible for communications and fundraising.
She is on the board of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatoon Housing Committee and is a Past Chair of the Sum Theatre Board.
Mercier says having a young family, she understands the enormous need for affordable childcare spaces, before-and-after school care, and the many health and wellness programs provided at the YMCA.
Mercier’s first day as the Saskatoon YMCA CEO will be February 20th.
“Becoming the new CEO of the YMCA is a tremendous opportunity to help strengthen our community, inspire positive change, and shape the future of Saskatoon,” she beams.
She will succeed Dean Dodge who held the position for ten years.
