A traffic stop late Thursday night became an assault and kidnapping investigation for Saskatoon Police. Officers conducted the traffic stop in the area of Wiggins Avenue South and 9th Street East around 11 that night and when they approached the vehicle, they noticed a woman in the back seat was injured. She had been stabbed and she told police her life had been threatened by the other four in the vehicle.
Two men, 53 and 60 years old, and two women, 31 and 41 are charged with assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, extortion and kidnapping with intent to confine. Police say the 31-year-old woman was also charged with cocaine possession and the 60-year old man was in breach of court-imposed conditions.
