Prince Albert Police say what started as a wellbeing check turned into an arrest involving, drugs, booze and weapons.
On Saturday at 10:12 a.m., patrol officers spotted a vehicle parked in a no-parking zone on the 500 block of 24th Street East. When they approached the vehicle the two people inside appeared to be asleep, but they could see the driver had a considerable amount of cash on his lap and there were multiple open containers of alcohol visible in the vehicle.
A man and woman were arrested and taken into custody. PA Police say a search of the vehicle revealed evidence a weigh scale, a machete, a modified firearm, crystal methamphetamine, and $2260 cash.
A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman are facing multiple weapons and drug charges including possession of a weapon and possession for the purpose of trafficking. They both make their first court appearance today.
