Moose Jaw Police conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday believing the driver was impaired and then learned the vehicle had been reported stolen leading to a search and drugs seized. The Police Service reports that officers were performing a roadside test, which came back negative. Upon further investigation, officers learned the vehicle matched the description of one reported stolen from Regina on Sunday.
Police say 35.6 grams of meth with a street value of about $3,560 and 67.3 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $5,384 were seized from the 44-year old man driving the vehicle. A 2year-old man who was the passenger was also search and a small amount of Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were found. Twenty-five boxes of Pokemon and sports card believed to be stolen were also seized. The owner of the cards is unknown at this time.
Forty-four year old Ryan Kupser and 22-year-old Brennan Luhning are charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,00 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. Luhning is charged with drug possession and Kupser is charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with an undertaking. They both appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court this morning (Wed).
