It wasn’t quite a carbon copy of Friday’s 1-0 extra time triumph in Lethbridge, but the Saskatoon Blades got a similar result on Saturday with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Tigers in Medicine Hat.
Fraser Minten (pictured) finished a 2-on-1 break at 1:08 of O-T to give the Bridge City Bunch a 10th consecutive win. It was Minten’s second goal of the night while Brandon Lisowsky scored the other two goals for the Blue and Gold as they rallied from a 2-0 first period deficit to improve their record to 41-9-5. Lisowsky added an assist for a three-point game while Trevor Wong chipped in two helpers for the Blades as they upped their consecutive game streak with points in the standings to 13 games (12-0-1) and improved their head-to-head winning streak over the Tigers to 12 games dating back to December, 2019 – six of them in Medicine Hat. Saskatoon looks to finish up their current three-game road trip with another win when they visit the Brandon Wheat Kings Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Following is the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L, the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast and Les Lazaruk’s Post-Game Show interview with head coach Brennan Sonne…..
