A home in the 200 block of Avenue K North was heavily damaged in an early morning fire. The call came in at 4:32 am of a structure on fire. A fire was identified in the basement and crews started attacking the blaze from the exterior with the fire extending throughout the structure to its roof.
About an hour after the initial call, later flames were visible on the main floor and attic. The Saskatoon Fire Department says extreme cold weather is challenging for fire crews and equipment and firefighters are still on scene. Residents are asked to avoid the area.
