The total number of respiratory virus illness cases admitted to Saskatchewan hospitals in the recent respiratory illness surveillance report has gone down by almost 12 per cent, from 244 to 215 over the previous two week period. This Community Respiratory Illness Surveillance Program report is for February 11th to 24th.
There were 41 hospital admissions where the patient had COVID-19 and two of them were admitted to an ICU. Nine people were admitted with the flu and 21 admitted with RSV. Of those, three patients with RSV were admitted to an ICU. There were no deaths reported.
So far, 6,100 people have tested positive for the flu this season and almost 89 per cent had Type A.
