Just after 6 Tuesday morning, the Saskatoon Fire Department was alerted about a fire in the 200 block of Avenue F South. The first arriving crew reported flames coming through the roof and smoke coming out of all the second floor windows of the home.
The Fire Department says in a news release the blaze was located and knocked down quickly, however, due to the lathe and plaster construction of the home, it was challenging opening walls and ceilings to ensure the fire was completely out. A Fire Investigator was unable to find definitive proof about the cause of the fire, so has been deemed undetermined. The origin was a room on the second floor and the damage estimate is $150,000.
