Workers at the Saskatoon Public Library have ratified a tentative collective agreement. The agreement was reached last November after a voluntary mediation process. The two sides had been bargaining for more than three years. The last agreement expired December 31st, 2016. The new deal expires at the end of December this year. CUPE national representative Rhonda Heisler says the two sides were able to jointly clarify and expand many processes including grievances, layoff and recall, sick leave, and other leaves. Wage increases range from 0.5 per cent for July through December of 2018 to 1.75 per cent for January through December of this year. CUPE local 2669 represents 270 workers at nine Saskatoon locations.
