Today (Fri) is the second day of province-wide job action by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation. Teachers are withdrawing from their voluntary extracurricular activities. The STF also announced a one-day strike earlier this week for the Lloydminster Public and Catholic school divisions and the Horizon school division.
Separately, it’s also Phone In Friday, as organized by a Saskatoon mother and daughter with their initiative called ‘Families with STF’. Nicole Berg says there was a collective call-in campaign on March 14th, where concerned community members were able to contact the offices of the Premier and the Minister of Education. Forty-four people from 28 constituencies took part, and due to its success, the campaign will continue today with “Phone In Friday”. Fifteen-minute time slots can be scheduled at familieswithstf.com.
