Green infrastructure projects in Saskatchewan to safeguard public health will receive more than $45 million in total from federal, provincial and local governments. Federal Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, Sean Fraser says the funding supports an increased supply of safe and reliable drinking water, effective wastewater treatment, and cleaner soil.
In the northwest, 18 municipalities will have their non-engineered landfill sites decommissioned and waste will be redirected to two new solid waste facilities that serve 23 communities. Government Relations Minister Don McMorris says Saskatchewan is committed to improving infrastructure and providing communities with the resources and funding to make reliable upgrades.
