The kick off of Meewasin’s Clean Up Campaign coincides with Earth Day today. It’s a five-and-a-half-week campaign where volunteers help clear litter from natural areas in and around Saskatoon. The Meewasin Clean Up Campaign presented by Nutrien runs from April 22nd – May 31st, 2024.
In a news release the MVA says over 5,000 participants took part in the 2023 campaign and cleared 11,000 kg of waste and recycling from our natural areas.
This is the 43rd year for the campaign where organizations, groups, and individuals to register and receive materials and resources to safely pick up litter.
This year marks the 43rd year that Meewasin hosts the community Clean Up Campaign, which encourages organizations, groups, and individuals to register and receive materials and resources to safely pick up litter and clean the natural spaces in the Saskatoon area.
Meewasin Valley Authority says the parks, streets, and riverbanks within the Meewasin Valley have been enjoyed by over 2 million people in a single year on over 107km of trails.
