Saskatoon Public Schools has a cold weather plan for busing which it is reminding parents and caregivers about with the extreme cold weather in the forecast for this week. At 7 a.m., if Environment Canada reports the temperature with windchill is -45 or colder, all bus routes for the school division and charters are cancelled for the day.
The Saskatoon Public Schools website states that parents whose children are bused to school are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and having an alternate plan. If the temperature will be colder than -45, and the cancellation has been confirmed by the transportation manager, the information will forwarded to all media outlets and will be shared on social media and the division’s website.
