Saskatoon Police have arrested one man following a reported break-in to a home in Mayfair.

Around 4:30 Monday morning, patrol officer were dispatched to the 1400 block of Avenue B North for a report of a break and enter in progress.

Once police arrived, they located a woman who reported that someone had just attempted to break into her home.

In a news release, police say the woman woke up to the sound of breaking glass and that she saw a damaged window. The suspect was then seen attempting to gain entry into the house through the back door.

The woman warned the suspect that she was calling the police before he fled. Officers located the suspect a short time later.

He was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The 30 year-old is facing charges of break and enter and mischief.
