If you’re heading to the lake to open up the cabin for the season you might want to check whether you need a permit.
The Water Security Agency (WSA) says maintenance and improvement projects for recreational properties that involve doing work near water may require an Aquatic Habitat Protection Permit (AHPP).
The permit is intended to make sure impacts on aquatic ecosystems is minimized when residents are undertaking development projects. Some projects like seasonal/temporary boat docks and lifts do not require a permit but taking on a project like shoreline stabilization, vegetation removal, access trails, boat launch repairs and boathouse construction do.
