Saskatoon Police say a woman was stabbed in a park shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
When officers arrived at the park along 18th Street West, they found a 30-year-old woman in the 600 block of Wardlow Road. She had suffered several non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Police say the victim and another person were walking through the park when they were approached by a group of people and when the victim tried to run, she fell down and was stabbed multiple times. Police say they don’t believe the group of people was known to the two individuals walking in the park.
Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
Several hours earlier the Saskatoon Police Service says a man was stabbed in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive North. The call came in around 9:30 p.m. and when officers got there, they located a 20-year-old man with a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound. A suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation revealed there was an argument between the victim and the suspect and that the two were known to one another. Police continue to investigate.
