There has been a fatality at the Nutrien mine in Rocanville. In a statement, Nutrien confirms a tragic fatality on Sunday at the mine about 250 kilometres east of Regina. Authorities have conducted investigations and Nutrien is carrying out its own. Production is expected to begin again sometime today (Wed).

United Steelworkers Union president of Local 7916, Derek Palmer, says, “Our union will be working with Nutrien to assist workers both on and off the mine sites. The Surface Occupational Health Committee and Mines Branch investigation is still in progress.” No other details have been released at this time.
