A trio of people face charges following a firearms event just before the Noon hour Thursday in the west end of Saskatoon.
A 30-year-old man has been charged with multiple firearms offences. A 31-year-old man was charged with possession of a controlled substance, breaching probation orders and was wanted on multiple warrants while a 21-year-old woman was also found breaching her release order. According to a news release from the Saskatoon Police Service, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Avenue X South as reports had a man brandishing a firearm. Upon arrival on the scene, officers were given a description of the man by a witness, who added they saw him entering a nearby apartment building. A search of the building netted police the location of the suspect and in possession of a sawed-off shotgun. At the same time, a second man tried to flee the building, but was quickly arrested and found to be in possession of fentanyl.
