The $28.8 million renovation and expansion project at the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School is complete and the upgrades were celebrated Thursday.
The project included a two-storey addition that houses 16 new classrooms, a new gymnasium and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical systems
The Government of Saskatchewan and the Province of Alberta, through The Lloydminster Charter, jointly invested $28.8 million in the project which added an extra 2-story building that houses the additional learning space. With the new space, the school, which was once attended by Grade 10 to 12 students only, is now also home to 335 Grade 9 students.
The Lloydminster Public School Division partnered with Synergy Credit Union and the City of Lloydminster to provide $750,000 in funding to help the gymnasium improvements.
