There was a structure fire in the 100 block of Avenue Q South Monday morning. The call came in at 5:38 a.m. from Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
Firefighters could see smoke and flames coming from the building. There is no word on whether this is a house fire or a fire a multi-unit building, of which there is one on the block. Nor is there any indication of how many people were impacted but all did evacuate safely.
The fire, as of 8 a.m., when the bulletin from the Saskatoon Fire Department was issued, indicated the fire had been extinguished.
There was a structure fire Sunday in the Haultain neighbourhood. Although not indicated by the bulletin issued from the fire department, it would have been a house fire as it the fire was in the 700 block of 5th Street East. The call came in at 1:37 p.m. from the Haultain neighbourhood and arriving firefighters could see smoke coming from the basement.
No one was injured. A fire investigator is determining the cause, origin and damage estimate in both fires.
