The number of zebras at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo has been reduced from five to three as “Koffee” and “LeeLoo” have been transferred to the Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton, New Brunswick.
In a news release, the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo explained the move was made after a medical issue last fall forced “Koffee” and “LeeLoo” to be paired separately from “Marty”, “Misty” and “Shadow.” As a result of becoming a bonded pair, the decision was made not to reintroduce them to the other zebras as zebra males can become very territorial, especially within a herd setting. “Koffee” and “LeeLoo” had all required permits, veterinary checks and documentation completed before being safely transferred to Moncton earlier this week by a license, approved animal transport company.
