Saskatchewan teachers are set to begin work-to-rule on Monday. Teachers will arrive at work 15 minutes before the school day starts and leave 15 minutes after it ends and will not take part in extracurriculars or noon-hour supervision.
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation made the announcement Wednesday after negotiations with the province reached an impasse. The government says it proposed jointly requesting binding arbitration, but the STF declined.
In March the Federation proposed binding arbitration and the government turned them down.
In May the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation was given the green light to continue job action in the new school year with 95 per cent of teachers who voted supporting further sanctions, beyond the current school year, until there is an agreement in place.
