The concrete pour starts today for the pad that will make up the floor of the new amphitheatre at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan.
As well, the organization announced today that casting is complete and the date is now set for the launch of their inaugural season at their redeveloped, therefore, “new” site.
July 10th will be the first Preview Performance with the closing date of the season extended to August 30th.
The two plays being presented by Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan are Macbeth and The Tempest.
A fundraising campaign has allowed Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan to become a permanent site. The plan includes construction of a permanent amphitheatre and improvements to the Meewasin trail. The picture featured in this story is a rendering of the future site.
