The Director of Parkland Ambulance, Jordan Ambrose, says the actions of officers with the Prince Albert Police Service helped save a life.
On Sunday afternoon around 2:15, Prince Albert Police were called to the 600 block of 15th Street West about a 32-year-old man in a vulnerable state, last seen walking eastbound from a home. Officers noticed signs of injury in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue West and then the man was found on the Diefenbaker Bridge. The Police Service says in a news release he had an edged weapon, was seriously injured and he had lost a significant amount of blood from a self-inflicted injury. With training in tactical emergency casualty care, officers tried to stop the bleeding and stopped traffic to allow unrestricted access for EMS. The man was transported to hospital for treatment.
Police Chief Patrick Nogier commends the swift and decisive actions of officers, saying, ” Their actions not only saved a life but also highlighted their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.”
