Saskatoon Police responded to reports of an injured person walking in the 300 block of Avenue C South, between 19th and 20th Streets, just before 10 Saturday morning, and found a man who had been attacked with an axe. When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old man with serious injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

A police news release says the victim told officers he had been attacked with an axe by another man. It is believed the two know each other. The Serious Assault Unit is investigating and asks anyone with information to contact the Police Service or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
