SaskPower is looking for 500 business customers to have smart meters installed on their properties.
Joel Cherry, a spokesperson with SaskPower says its free to have the smart meter installed and he adds the meters come with a number of instant benefits including no-longer having any meter readers enter your property.
Cherry adds with the meters, you can access detailed information about your power use by going online, meaning that you can look for cost saving opportunities. You’ll be able to log into your account and see ho much power you’re using at a time.
Smart meters also eliminate estimated bills between actual meter reads which can sometimes lead to high true-up bills.
By the end of 2020, nearly 30 thousand SaskPower smart meters will have been installed.
You can sign-up to have your smart reader installed by clicking on the link below.
SaskPower had originally put out a call looking for two thousand residential and business customers to sign-up for smart meters, however the crown corporation received an overwhelming number of responses with 1500 since Thursday. Many of those who signed-up are residential customers.
SaskPower says they would like businesses to have the opportunity to sign-up and the remaining 500 smart meters will be reserved for small and medium businesses.
