Mechanics have been ordered back to work at WestJet, ending the strike the caused over 830 flight cancellations for travelers over the weekend.
Overnight, both their union and the airline announced that they’ve reached a tentative contract agreement.
The Airplane Mechanics Fraternal Association urged its 680 striking members to return to work immediately pending a vote on the temporary five-year agreement.
Workers had walked off the job Friday evening, despite a federal directive for binding arbitration between the parties.
