Two people have been arrested and charged after an incident on Saturday when Saskatoon Police responded to a report about two people bear spraying someone near 22nd Street East and 4th Avenue North. The Saskatoon Police Service reports that officers were able to locate the two suspects, but they fled on foot. One was arrested without incident after a short foot chase and police say bear spray was seized.
It’s alleged the second suspect began to fight officers, so a conducted energy weapon was used. A 19-year-old man is facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and assaulting a peace officer, while a 16-year-old boy is facing numerous weapons charges.
