The provincial government is providing funding to enhance professional development opportunities for Francophone artists.
The funding comes from the federal government through a five-year Canada-Saskatchewan agreement for French-language Services
As was announced in the provincial budget, the agreement includes $470,000 this year and over a million dollars annually in new federal funding, compared to the previous agreement.
For this project, the Conseil culturel Fransaskois will receive $55,000 to deliver workshops between now and next January for singers, musicians, writers and visual artists.
The federal Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, Randy Boissonault says, this funding will support Francophone artists by ensuring they have a designated space to share ideas and perfect their craft.
