The most significant heat is moving out of Saskatchewan with just the southeast under a heat warning on Friday. The hot spot in the province Thursday was Yellow Grass North; Weyburn at 36.5 degrees.
It doesn’t look like Saskatchewan will set any records for electricity use during this heatwave. With the hot weather the province’s residents have been running air conditioners and fans full out trying to cool off.
SaskPower says on Thursday usage was just short of a record again peaking at 3,655 megawatts. The summer record is 3,669 MW.
