An Edmonton man was stopped by Saskatoon Police around 1:30 Thursday morning when officers witnessed him drive his electric bike through a red light on 4th Avenue South near 21st Street East, nearly causing an accident, and he is now facing weapons-related charges.
Officers report that when the man was stopped, the end of a firearm was seen in a bag he was carrying. He was arrested and when his bag was searched, police say a loaded sawed-off shotgun was found along with ammunition and meth, and later it was discovered the electric bike he was riding had been reported stolen in July. Along with several weapons-related offences, the 29-year-old is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failing to comply with court-ordered conditions. He also received two city bylaw violations for operating a bicycle without due care and attention and without a light after sunset
