Moose Jaw RCMP report that human remains found northeast of the city on April 28th have been identified. At the time, some pictures of old clothing were released to the public to help identify the individual.
A Saskatchewan RCMP news release says during a ground search in the area, investigators found several papers that were stuck together and unreadable, but the RCMP’s Forensic Identification Services was able to re-hydrate them, which had a possible identification of the person. From DNA, the identity was confirmed to be a Saskatchewan man. His family has been notified.
The man’s death is not considered suspicious and there were no outstanding missing person reports about him, so his name is not being released.
