One person was taken from a home on fire this morning in Saskatoon’s Richmond Heights neighbourhood.

The call came in from Rupert Drive around 9:10 a.m. and firefighters could see flames coming from a duplex when they arrived.

Fire crews entered the building and located one individual in the basement who was removed from the home alive, and Medavie Health Services West transferred them to Royal University Hospital.

The fire was contained to one side of the duplex and a fire investigator is identifying the cause, origin and damage estimate.
