The goal of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saskatchewan Research Council and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd is to promote and explore a collaborative approach to nuclear research and innovation.

Minister Responsible for SRC, Jeremy Harrison explains that the collaboration supports priorities at both the provincial and federal level for advancing sustainable technologies such as nuclear microreactors.

AECL President and CEO, Fred Dermarkar (der mar car) says, “One of the best ways to tackle the huge challenge to decarbonization is by teaming up.”

Last November the provincial government announced $80 million for SRC to pursue the licensing and operation of a microreactor.
