A 32-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested after another man was found injured early yesterday morning.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m. an off-duty police officer was going to work and spotted an injured man near 31st Street West and Idylwyld Drive North. He had several serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation determined that the man had been assaulted and robbed at a home in the 1000 block of Idylwyld Drive North. Police visited that address and arrested three people.
While in police detention, one of the three began acting erratically, damaging property and threatening self-harm. He was taken to hospital for assessment, charged with mischief over $5,000 and eventually released.
Early that afternoon, a man matching his description and armed with is accused of robbing a gas station with a bat in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the man had entered the store, damaged a display case, and threatened a staff member before running away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers then went back to the same house and arrested the man a second time. He was also alleged to be in possession of methamphetamine.
The General Investigations Section is continuing to investigate the earlier assault and subsequent events.
