A 31-year-old man from Clearwater River Dene Nation has died after being struck by an RCMP vehicle.
This morning at 3:30 a.m., RCMP received a call for service in Buffalo Narrows. On-duty officers travelled there from Turnor Lake, where they were responding to a separate incident.
One officer was travelling on the 909-grid road when he struck a pedestrian. The collision occurred several kilometres from the Highway #155/grid road junction.
The officer immediately called for an ambulance and provided first aid to the man until EMS arrived, who then declared him dead at the scene.
The Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team will now be investigating the circumstances of the collision and the man’s death.
