High school students in Saskatchewan will soon have the opportunity to take classes in tourism.
The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre will offer students online courses detailing the five key tourism industries: accommodation, food and beverage, recreation and entertainment, transportation and travel services.
For students in grades 11 and 12, a workplace coordinator will be available to arrange work placement opportunities close to home following the completion of 50 hours of online theory.
The Grade 10 level course is already available, but 20 and 30 level courses will come online in Semester 2 of this year and Semester One of next year, respectively.
