A Saskatchewan farmer has won Lallemand Plant Care’s Hometown Roots’ photo contest which means the yeast and bacteria manufacturing company is handing over a $5,000 cheque to the Lucky Lake Community Centre. The winner, David Bagshaw says, “The roof needs to be redone, the ice plant needs to be refurbished, and they are painting right now, so this donation will be a big help. ”
In a news release, Lallemand states that the contests was designed to support rural communities by giving back to community-based organizations. This year’s task for participants was to capture the true spirit of agriculture in their communities.

Planting is always done with care and a lot of hope. The rainbow is a symbol of hope. Our community has always had a lot of care and hope. David Bagshaw (CNW Group/Lallemand Plant Care)
