A 25-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving and operating a vehicle while prohibited following a police pursuit that started just before 9 o’clock on Sunday evening.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area around Spadina Crescent and 25th Street when the driver started to evade police. The pursuit proceeded onto College Drive with the vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes.
At this time, officers on the ground backed off and the vehicle was monitored by the Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit as it left the city on Highway 5.
Eventually the vehicle was stopped with the use of a tire deflation device. The driver did not follow police commands and was arrested with the assistance of a police service dog.
The suspect was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest for evading police and dangerous driving.
