A 42-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the shooting that took place on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation Wednesday evening.
At 6:28 p.m. RCMP responded to a report of a gun being fired at a motorist just outside the Cree Nation about 10 minutes prior.
Officers learned the driver was travelling on a grid road on the north boundary of the Cree Nation when they came across a black Chevrolet Equinox parked on the side of the road, looking in need of assistance. The individual pulled over and approached the SUV. The driver then pointed a firearm at the individual and reportedly discharged it in their direction multiple times. No injuries were reported to police.
RCMP say one male and two females were inside the vehicle, and officers believe they have arrested the male. Prentice Bowman, from the Cree Nation in question, is facing fourteen charges and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The investigation continues.
