Three women and one man face several charges following an early Thursday morning incident with a stolen vehicle and attempt to evade police.
The Saskatoon Police Service said in a news release that officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had a license plate that didn’t match the vehicle at the intersection of 22nd Street West and Avenue I South at about 12:05 a.m. on September 26. After the vehicle fled the area, police were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device at 22nd Street West and Dalmeny Road – but the vehicle kept on going westbound on Highway 14. It eventually came to a stop and a high-risk traffic stop allowed officers to take the four occupants of the vehicle into custody. A 22-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman all face charges relating to possession of stolen property under five thousand dollars and failure to comply with court ordered conditions. The 21-year-old woman also faces charges of dangerous driving and evading police.
