At the age of 88, with a terminal illness and only days to live Jack Ervin Russel of Elva, Manitoba was accepted into the RCMP.
Manitoba RCMP say Russell was actually accepted back in 1951 at the age of 20 to join the police force, which was a dream of his, but he had to decline because his family needed him.
He always wondered what could have been, so on Friday the Commanding Officer of the RCMP in Manitoba met with Jack Russell to swear him in as an Honourary Member of the Force.
