The provincial NDP is concerned about a leaked Saskatchewan Health Authority memo that details a lack of physician availability at Regina General and Pasqua hospitals, resulting in interventional radiology services being temporarily unavailable.

The closure began yesterday at Regina General Hospital at 8:00am, and will continue until Friday, October 18 at 8:00am.

At Pasqua Hospital. the closure will last from Wednesday, October 30 at 8:00am until November 1 at 8:00am.

The NDP release stated that after speaking to doctors, party members learned that Regina’s hospitals would not be able to function properly without these services and patients would be transferred to Saskatoon. The release continued that “Saskatoon’s two 24/7 emergency rooms have been over capacity for weeks and have run out of critical medical supplies, like oxygen and stretchers.”
